Pregnancy Symptoms

Pregnancy can have a variety of symptoms and while some women get very few, others seem to get them all.  Knowing the symptoms and treatments for pregnancy can reduce your stress and at the same time help you find ways to minimize these symptoms.

Back Pain

Back pain or back discomfort is common during pregnancy and should be expected to some degree by most women. In fact, European and U. S. studies have shown that about 50-75% of pregnant women experience pregnancy-related lower back pain.

Bladder Issues

Your body goes through many changes with pregnancy and for many women these changes include occasional urine leaks.

Constipation and Heartburn

Constipation, indigestion and heartburn affect over 50% of all pregnant women.

Fatigue and Moods

Fatigue and mod swings are common complaints during pregnancy. There are four time periods in pregnancy when fatigue is often significant: the first trimester, near the end of the third trimester, in labor and after delivery. It is also common to have mood swings during pregnancy, because of hormonal changes.

Morning Sickness

Nausea affects about 70% of pregnant women. It is often referred to as morning sickness. For some women it occurs only in the morning, but it can occur at any time during the day.

Sleep Problems

Many parents know how hard it can to get a good night's sleep in the months that follow the birth of their child, but who would have guessed that fatigue and sleep during pregnancy could prove to be so difficult?

Weight Gain

You need to be careful about how much weight you gain during your pregnancy. Gaining too much or too little can be harmful to you and your baby.  Gaining the right amount of weight helps protect your health and the health of your baby.
